Bio
Sara is the Chief Operating Officer at Bushido Billing! Married to a chiropractor, she began her career managing a busy chiropractic office, where she learned the ins and outs of insurance billing and practice operations. After seeing firsthand the frustrations many clinics faced with traditional billing companies, Sara started her own small billing practice to better support providers.
In 2021, she discovered Bushido Billing and immediately connected with the company’s ethics, culture, and clinic-first approach. Today, she uses her deep industry experience to lead operations with integrity, innovation, and a commitment to helping both providers and patients thrive.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and two dogs, as well as traveling, kayaking, trap shooting, and fishing. Known affectionately as “Unicorn,” she brings her curiosity and drive to every challenge—especially cleaning up complex accounts.

Bio
Katie is a Team Lead at Bushido Billing! A licensed X-ray technologist by trade, she began her career in a Level 1 trauma center before transitioning into chiropractic to pursue a family-friendly schedule. Over the next decade, she gained hands-on experience in billing, X-rays, and therapy within a chiropractic office, building a strong clinical and operational foundation.
Since joining Bushido Billing in 2023, Katie has progressed through multiple roles, supporting a wide variety of clinic types—including chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, and mental health. This has given her a comprehensive understanding of healthcare billing and a highly adaptable skill set. She is passionate about removing the stress and complexity of billing so providers can focus fully on patient care.
Katie is guided by integrity, accountability, precision, collaboration, and compassion. She believes in doing what’s right, communicating openly, and holding herself to the highest standards of accuracy. In her role as Team Lead, she loves building strong relationships with clinics, solving complex problems, and helping her teammates grow. Contributing to a mission-driven organization that prioritizes providers at every step is what makes her work deeply meaningful.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys crocheting, camping, and spending time with her family at their sports games, practices, and meets. She also loves visiting the beach whenever she can — a favorite way to recharge and return to her work with fresh energy.

Michael is a Team Lead at Bushido Billing! With over 20 years of experience in the medical industry, he has worked across a wide range of roles including medical records, billing, practice management, operations, and training and development. As a former certified coder and billing manager, Michael brings a deep understanding of both the clinical and administrative sides of healthcare. His background has strengthened his problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to guide others toward success.
Michael is motivated by helping practices achieve efficiency and financial success through accurate, well-managed billing. He believes that when providers thrive, Bushido thrives — and he’s dedicated to delivering service rooted in honesty, dedication, and reliability. As a Team Lead, he loves supporting and training team members, helping them grow in their roles and offer the highest level of care to clients.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys unwinding with horror and true crime shows, movies, and documentaries. He also likes playing video games, solving puzzles, and taking quiet, reflective time to recharge.

Janie is a Quality Assurance Lead here at Bushido Billing! With over 13 years of experience in healthcare administration, Janie has honed her skills in physical therapy and chiropractic billing. Her journey began as a CNA, where she developed a deep appreciation for patient care. However, Janie discovered her true calling in the administrative side of healthcare, where she could leverage her organizational talents and analytical skills to ensure efficient operations.
Janie thrives on the intellectual challenge of navigating complex claims and regulations. Each billing scenario presents a unique puzzle that she approaches with meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving acumen, and a touch of creativity. The satisfaction of ensuring both patient satisfaction and operational efficiency is immensely fulfilling.
Outside of work, Janie is a self-proclaimed "organizing queen" with a love for planning and prioritizing tasks. She finds joy in exploring the world of visual arts, whether sketching on her iPad or crafting new clipart.

Bio
Michelle is a Team Lead for Bushido Billing. She knows multiple softwares but is known to be our Katana Specialist. She brings years of experience from working in a busy dental office and assisting with both billing and front desk duties. Since then, she was a stay-at-home parent for 6 years with her 4 children. She is definitely your go-to person for multitasking and organization!
In the little free time Michelle has outside of attending games for her 3 kids' travel sports, she also enjoys spending time with her family and tending to her growing plant collection. Michelle enjoys knowing that she is providing a valuable service to clinics and taking some of the stress that can sometimes come along with billing and insurance, off of the clinic's plate. Brooke is a Client Coordinator here at Bushido Billing! She is a highly motivated and results-oriented billing professional with a strong work ethic and a passion for accuracy and efficiency. This is her first billing position since achieving her certification, and she is excited to put her skills into practice as she grows in the field.
What drew Brooke to Bushido Billing was the opportunity to learn, grow, and advance in a supportive environment. Being new to the industry, she was eager to join a team that values diligence, integrity, and a shared mission of helping clinics collect what they’re owed. Brooke approaches every account with the same mindset she applies to her own finances: money should be where it’s supposed to be — and she is committed to ensuring providers receive every dollar they’ve earned so their businesses can thrive.
Having successfully navigated the challenges of remote work for the past two years, Brooke is a confident and independent professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Megan is a Billing Specialist at Bushido Billing! With a strong background in healthcare, she spent much of her career in Physical Therapy, beginning as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant providing hands-on care in skilled nursing homes. She later transitioned into an administrative role as an Office Manager for a Physical Therapy clinic, giving her a well-rounded understanding of both the clinical and operational sides of healthcare.
Motivated by her love of problem-solving and supporting patients from behind the scenes, Megan was drawn to Bushido Billing’s family-like culture and values. She enjoys contributing to a team that prioritizes accuracy, integrity, and doing right by providers. Guided by accuracy, accountability, and empathy, Megan approaches her work with a commitment to clean claims, clear communication, and patience — all essential qualities in a fast-paced billing environment.
One of Megan’s greatest strengths is creating organized, efficient workflows. Her ability to streamline processes helps ensure smoother billing cycles, faster turnaround times, and an overall better experience for the clinics she supports. She looks forward to continuing to grow her expertise in denial management and payer rules so she can take on more complex challenges and support the team at an even higher level.
Outside of work, Megan can usually be found cheering at her sons’ baseball games or staying busy with DIY projects, interior design, and building furniture. She also loves collecting seashells and organizing (for fun!). A favorite personal fact: she once owned a furniture and cabinet painting business that started by accident — and became a major success.
