Bio
Sara is the Chief Operating Officer at Bushido Billing! Married to a chiropractor, she began her career managing a busy chiropractic office, where she learned the ins and outs of insurance billing and practice operations. After seeing firsthand the frustrations many clinics faced with traditional billing companies, Sara started her own small billing practice to better support providers.
In 2021, she discovered Bushido Billing and immediately connected with the company’s ethics, culture, and clinic-first approach. Today, she uses her deep industry experience to lead operations with integrity, innovation, and a commitment to helping both providers and patients thrive.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and two dogs, as well as traveling, kayaking, trap shooting, and fishing. Known affectionately as “Unicorn,” she brings her curiosity and drive to every challenge—especially cleaning up complex accounts.

Bio
Katie is a Team Lead at Bushido Billing! A licensed X-ray technologist by trade, she began her career in a Level 1 trauma center before transitioning into chiropractic to pursue a family-friendly schedule. Over the next decade, she gained hands-on experience in billing, X-rays, and therapy within a chiropractic office, building a strong clinical and operational foundation.
Since joining Bushido Billing in 2023, Katie has progressed through multiple roles, supporting a wide variety of clinic types—including chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, and mental health. This has given her a comprehensive understanding of healthcare billing and a highly adaptable skill set. She is passionate about removing the stress and complexity of billing so providers can focus fully on patient care.
Katie is guided by integrity, accountability, precision, collaboration, and compassion. She believes in doing what’s right, communicating openly, and holding herself to the highest standards of accuracy. In her role as Team Lead, she loves building strong relationships with clinics, solving complex problems, and helping her teammates grow. Contributing to a mission-driven organization that prioritizes providers at every step is what makes her work deeply meaningful.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys crocheting, camping, and spending time with her family at their sports games, practices, and meets. She also loves visiting the beach whenever she can — a favorite way to recharge and return to her work with fresh energy.

Bio
Emily is a Team Lead at Bushido Billing! She brings seven years of hands-on chiropractic experience to her role, including six years as an Office Manager and her start as a Chiropractic Assistant. Her background gives her a strong understanding of chiropractic terminology, charting, and front-to-back office operations. Emily also brings extensive expertise in ChiroTouch and Jane.app, allowing her to support clinics with both efficiency and confidence.
Having worked exclusively in chiropractic throughout her adult life, Emily has a deep appreciation for the profession and the providers who dedicate themselves to helping others—often in ways the public doesn’t fully understand or value. She’s passionate about ensuring chiropractors receive the reimbursement they deserve and believes in transparent, proactive communication so clinics always know what’s happening with their billing without it consuming their time.
Emily is guided by honesty, adaptability, and respect. She understands that when a clinic seeks help, they’re often overwhelmed, and she aims to make every provider feel supported, understood, and treated like a true member of the Bushido team. As a Team Lead, she loves collaborating closely with her coworkers, creating a connected and supportive work environment even while remote, and building strong relationships with providers rooted in trust and open communication.
Adaptability is one of Emily’s greatest strengths—critical when navigating the constantly changing expectations of multiple insurance companies and clinic workflows. She is eager to continue growing in leadership and helping Bushido support even more clinics with excellence and care.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys baking, singing, taking long walks after the workday, and unwinding with crafts, Gilmore Girls, or a cozy rom-com.

April is the Director of Training at Bushido Billing! With a uniquely diverse background spanning healthcare operations, leadership, customer service, and specialized chiropractic billing, she brings over two decades of hands-on experience to her role. Her career began in high school at a veterinary clinic and coaching a swim team, followed by hospitality roles throughout college (GO GATORS). In 2003, she entered the chiropractic field as a Chiropractic Assistant — the spark that ignited her long-term passion for patient care and behind-the-scenes clinic operations.
From resort management internships to HR work at Eglin Air Force Base, banking, and multiple chiropractic offices across the country, April has developed deep expertise in operations, billing, and training. Through military relocations and career shifts, she continued refining her billing skills in Virginia, California, and Nebraska before joining Bushido Billing full-time in February 2023. Today, she leads our training department with a blend of technical knowledge, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping others grow.
April is motivated by the combination of teaching, problem-solving, and restoring clarity to complex billing situations. She loves empowering team members, building effective processes, and supporting clinics with accuracy, efficiency, and a clear understanding of why things work the way they do. Guided by integrity, accuracy, curiosity, and service, she believes that strong training and collaboration make every clinic — and every team member — more successful.
Outside of work, April enjoys swimming, crafting, and spending quality time with her family. Whether being active, creative, or simply unplugging at home, she values the moments that help life slow down and feel more grounded.

Brianna — known as Bri — is a Client Coordinator at Bushido Billing! With over eight years of medical billing experience across Mental Health, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Surgery, and Physical Therapy, she brings deep industry knowledge and strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills to the team. She prides herself on keeping processes efficient, accurate, and thoroughly managed from start to finish.
Bri is passionate about advocating for providers and ensuring they receive every dollar they deserve. She believes in allowing clinicians to focus on caring for their patients while trusting that their billing is handled with accuracy and persistence behind the scenes. Drawn to Bushido Billing’s genuine passion for helping clinics succeed, she values being part of a remote team that remains closely connected, supportive, and united by a shared mission.
One of Bri’s standout strengths is training. She loves guiding new clinics through software, insurance workflows, and billing processes—seeing that “light bulb” moment click into place is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Bri is also excited for Bushido’s continued expansion and looks forward to the opportunity to learn new specialties in the future.
Outside of work, Bri enjoys spending time with her husband, Jack, and their German Shepherd, Ani—whether they’re going for walks, discovering new restaurants, or relaxing at home with a show. A great cup of coffee, a good book, and time with family (now just minutes away in South Carolina) are her favorite ways to recharge. Family is at the heart of everything she does.

Amanda is a Client Coordinator here at Bushido Billing! With an English degree and a passion for editing, she has built a versatile career spanning retail, animal care, finance, and healthcare. Through these roles, she’s developed strong customer service, administrative, and office management skills. In her current position, Amanda enjoys work that is organized, detail-driven, and structured—making billing a natural fit. Her attention to detail, reliability, and clear communication help keep processes consistent and on track while supporting both clients and the team.
She values honesty, consistency, and follow-through, and she takes pride in keeping clients informed and ensuring accuracy in every task. Amanda was drawn to Bushido Billing for its commitment to doing things the right way and working efficiently, and she looks forward to continuing to strengthen her knowledge of billing systems and workflows.

Laurie is a Billing Specialist with Bushido Billing! With over 18 years of experience, she has honed her skills in diverse areas of chiropractic care. Her journey began at a chiropractic clinic in Wisconsin, where she initially tackled the dual role of front desk receptionist and chiropractic technician (CT). Over the past decade, she has transitioned her focus to chiropractic billing.
Thriving on working with numbers and charts, she finds equal satisfaction in unraveling billing mysteries, playing Sherlock Holmes to conquer EOBs with meticulous "digging around". Her knack for turning chaos into calm earned her the nickname "The Organizer."
When she's not cheering on her two teenage daughters as they tear up the softball field, you'll find her camping, Bass fishing, or tackling a home project with refreshing gusto. Deep down, she dreams to bring laughter to millions as a stand-up comedian on Saturday Night Live! Though she might coyly brush aside her own comedic chops, her knack for finding humor in the everyday and her unreserved appreciation for a good giggle are testament to a true funny bone.

Outside of work, Sarah is a creative at heart who enjoys gardening, fishing, and baking — especially crafting homemade sourdough bread. Music remains a meaningful part of her life, and she still loves to sing, having trained in opera during her youth.

Her curiosity and root-cause mindset drew her to the billing side of the industry, where she enjoys understanding the “why” behind processes and finding ways to make them more effective.
Dedicated to helping others and solving problems, Aubry takes pride in turning around clinics by cleaning up processes and creating systems that run smoothly. Vanessa is a Billing Specialist at Bushido Billing! She has a strong background in healthcare, having worked in chiropractic, orthodontics, and medical office roles. Her journey began in a chiropractic office, where she gained experience in administrative support and billing. She then transitioned to an orthodontic practice as a Marketing Coordinator and X-ray Technician, before moving to Utah and joining a medical office as a Patient Service Coordinator and Drug Technician. Most recently, she worked at a Cancer Center as a Billing Assistant, where she discovered her passion for medical billing.
Outside of work, Vanessa loves staying active by playing pickleball, volleyball, and recently kickboxing, thanks to her brother's influence. She’s a big fan of hiking and spending time in nature. A lover of books, she enjoys reading non-fiction, romance, and mystery/suspense novels. Vanessa is also an avid baker, believing that chocolate chip cookies lead to sweet dreams. She enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend, and practicing calligraphy. A fun fact: she’s played the piano since she was 7, thanks to her mom’s encouragement, and she’s grateful for the ability to read music and play.

Ashleigh is a Billing Specialist at Bushido Billing! With a background in healthcare, she began her career as a Nursing Assistant in the ICU/Cardiac ICU right after high school, working in the medical field for two years. After deciding to pursue a different path, Ashleigh transitioned to a Chiropractic Assistant role, where she has spent the last four years. Her experience includes assisting with authorizations, personal injury claims, VA eligibility, and insurance billing, as well as finding and confirming billing errors.
Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys staying active with weightlifting, running with her dogs, and attending Pilates classes. She’s a foodie at heart, frequently trying new restaurants with her husband, and loves outdoor adventures with her dogs. When her husband gets a break from school, they head to Florida for some sunshine and saltwater. As a child, she was called “Band-aid” because she never wanted to leave her grandpa’s side!
