Bio
Dr. Karen is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Bushido Billing. She has owned her own practice since 2010 and since pursued post doctorate certifications and degrees in Acupuncture, and Animal Chiropractic. Although Dr. Karen loves owning her private practice and being a Chiropractor, she was frustrated by the lack of standards and options when it came to insurance and billing companies. After a conversation with Jeff, who also shared similar experiences, the two put into motion the genesis of Bushido Billing. Karen brings her clinical experience to the team which allows us to better understand and relate to a doctors and clinics point of view when it comes to insurance billing.
Outside of work, Karen loves to travel, play volleyball, watch sports and go to the beach (but not in Iowa!). If she catches you wearing socks with sandals, you can guarantee she is going to say something! Don't worry though, she won't be a "Karen" because one of her biggest pet peeves is when people are rude. All-in-all, Karen loves making a difference in someone’s life - no matter how big or small, especially when it comes to Chiropractic care.
Bio
Jeff is the Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of Bushido Billing. He brings over a decade of experience working with small businesses helping them achieve growth and increased success. Since 2016, he has worked alongside his wife in their chiropractic practice in Seattle, Washington and during that time developed a passion for helping chiropractors succeed in business. His primary role within Bushido Billing is to help ensure everyone else on the team can do their job effectively and efficiently. He brings years of billing experience to the team and his role encompasses marketing, analytics, managing finances and day to day operations.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find Jeff enjoying one of his many hobbies which include motorcycling, sailing, camping and exploring the outdoors.
Bio
Sara is the Chief Operating Officer for Bushido Billing and married to a Chiropractor. While her husband was in school, Sara managed a busy Chiropractic office and learned all things insurance billing. Upon leaving, Sara started her own small billing practice to avoid the frustrations that other offices were facing with the traditional billing companies. She also did billing and management duties for her husbands practice. In 2021 Sara stumbled across Bushido Billing and joined them after learning how their ethics and practices aligned with those of an actual clinic owner!
In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time with her 2 kids, husband, and 2 dogs, traveling, kayaking, shooting trap, and going fishing. With the nickname "Unicorn" she finds enjoyment in taking on tasks that she either does or does not know how to do. The challenge that insurance billing brings provides excitement to Sara as her favorite task is to clean up messy accounts. April is the Director of Training here at Bushido Billing and she is a proud military spouse. April is driven by a core belief in the power of learning and growth to transform individuals and organizations. Her rich and varied professional journey, including roles in customer service, finance, and healthcare management, has equipped her with a unique understanding of diverse needs and how to connect with people effectively.
April's approach to training is practical, positive, and always centered on the individual. She is passionate about creating engaging experiences that empower people to not only learn but also to thrive.
Outside of her impactful work, April finds joy in horseback riding, the creative outlet of crocheting, and the rejuvenating Florida sunshine. She embraces a life of balance and brings a heartfelt approach to all her endeavors.

Loriann is the Director of Business Development & Communications here at Bushido Billing! Leveraging her bachelor's degree in psychology and over a decade of experience in administrative roles, she brings a unique blend of analytical expertise and organizational prowess. She has been playfully referred to as "Monica-like" (from Friends!), loves streamlining processes, and fostering well-coordinated workflows.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Loriann is an adventurer at heart. When not tackling organizational challenges, she loves globe-trotting with her husband and son, especially to the sun-drenched sands of Egypt. Back home, she immerses herself in captivating K-dramas or Audible escapes. In her wildest dreams, she'd swap spreadsheets for fins, working hand-in-hand with dolphins.

Brianna (Bri for short) is a Team Lead for Bushido Billing with over five years of medical billing experience. She is from Long Island, NY. Her prior experience has ranged from Mental Health, Orthopedics, and Pain Management, to Physical Therapy. Her favorite part of her job is the challenging tasks that she puts her all into! She is determined to complete the tasks at hand and will not stop until she does!
She loves to be on the go, spending time with her family, friends, and German Shephard named Ani. Reading a good book is another way she enjoys spending her free time, although relaxing is not her specialty. A fun fact about her is that she is a twin!
Green is the color that represents her personality because she is always go, go, go! A pet peeve of Brianna's is chewing sounds. It makes her skin crawl! If she could do anything in the world (money aside), she would buy her family houses on the same street so that they could always be together instead of in separate states.

Katie is Team Lead here at Bushido Billing. She is located about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. She lives the busy mom life with a daughter who plays softball and is on a swim team. She has two sons that wrestle and play baseball and soccer. She spends lots of time with her kids at their sports, but in her free time she enjoys kayaking and crocheting.
She is a self-taught biller with over 8 years of experience in the field. Before having kids, she worked as a Radiologic Technologist (x-ray tech). She worked in a level 1 trauma center in Pittsburgh for 6 years!
One of her nicknames is Mother Kate because she was always the mother hen of her friends growing up. Her biggest pet peeve is when people's actions do not match their words. What she loves most about her job is the flexibility that she has to be able to attend all of her kid's events.

His most recent tenure at a chiropractic multispecialty company with twenty-two clinics has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry.
At home, Michael is a proud dog parent to Tater and Teddy, two adorable dachshunds who keep him company. Whether it's a thrilling horror movie, an enlightening documentary, or a captivating reality show, he enjoys unwinding with a good film.

Alicia is a Client Coordinator here at Bushido Billing! She lives in sunny Florida where she enjoys playing tennis and lots of golf with her two sons and husband. If she could do anything in the world, it would be to travel. In her family they substitute gifts for traveling because they are all about the experience and making memories!
Her experience with medical billing is tried and true as she used to be a chiropractor herself! Something she loves about her job is being able to help clinic owners take tasks off of their plates.

Destiny is a Client Coordinator here at Bushido Billing! She is a 9-year billing veteran (5 years dedicated to chiropractic) and has mastered the art of accuracy, ensuring a whopping 99% clean claim rate and top reimbursements for happy clients.
In her free time, this Georgia resident swaps spreadsheets for notebooks. When she's not journaling, she's hitting the shops for the latest finds or snuggling up with her son for a movie marathon.
Deep in her heart, she yearns for salty breezes and sandy toes. Jamaica or Hawaii whisper in her dreams, promising an escape from the everyday grind. But back in the real world, she shines where she thrives – with people. Everyone calls her the "people person," a friend to all. Her nickname? Cookie! Emily is a Client Coordinator here at Bushido Billing! A nickname that she sports is "Boss Lady" after she wore a blazer and pencil skirt to school one day and her friends awarded her the name. If she could do anything in the world, she would travel with her family or sing on Broadway!
In her free time she likes to sing, everywhere, all the time as well as play board or card games. She also enjoys hanging out with her husband and pug, Frankie. A pet peeve she has is when people chew loudly.
Her work experience consists of spending 7 years in Chiropractic billing and 6 of those years were spent as an office manager. Her favorite part about her job is being able to help people solve problems and come up with lasting solutions. She enjoys doing "detective work" as a billing specialist and getting to the root of problems.

Laurie is a Client Coordinator with Bushido Billing! With over 18 years of experience, she has honed her skills in diverse areas of chiropractic care. Her journey began at a chiropractic clinic in Wisconsin, where she initially tackled the dual role of front desk receptionist and chiropractic technician (CT). Over the past decade, she has transitioned her focus to chiropractic billing.
Thriving on working with numbers and charts, she finds equal satisfaction in unraveling billing mysteries, playing Sherlock Holmes to conquer EOBs with meticulous "digging around". Her knack for turning chaos into calm earned her the nickname "The Organizer."
When she's not cheering on her two teenage daughters as they tear up the softball field, you'll find her camping, Bass fishing, or tackling a home project with refreshing gusto. Deep down, she dreams to bring laughter to millions as a stand-up comedian on Saturday Night Live! Though she might coyly brush aside her own comedic chops, her knack for finding humor in the everyday and her unreserved appreciation for a good giggle are testament to a true funny bone.

Michelle is a Client Coordinator for Bushido Billing. She knows multiple softwares but is known to be our Katana Specialist. She brings years of experience from working in a busy dental office and assisting with both billing and front desk duties. Since then, she was a stay-at-home parent for 6 years with her 4 children. She is definitely your go-to person for multitasking and organization!
In the little free time Michelle has outside of attending games for her 3 kids' travel sports, she also enjoys spending time with her family and tending to her growing plant collection. Michelle enjoys knowing that she is providing a valuable service to clinics and taking some of the stress that can sometimes come along with billing and insurance, off of the clinic's plate. Lora is a Billing Specialist with Bushido Billing. She knows multiple softwares but is known as our JaneApp specialist. She has managed and performed billing functions for a Chiropractic office for over 8 years before joining Bushido. Her busy life includes travel volleyball, basketball, and softball for her two daughters. She is commonly referred to as "Mama Bode" by her daughter's teammates as she is always prepared and brings forward empathy in everything she does. This clearly translates into her work and with her clients as she treats them like family.
In her little free time, she enjoys walking her mini golden doodle (Bellow), catching up on DVR, and exercising. Lora enjoys investigating claims that deny and finds it rewarding to be able to obtain every last penny from each claim for her clinics.
